Anticipato dai singoli “Parla Con Me” e Madama”, “Profondo” contiene 7 canzoni ideate e realizzate tra il 2018 e oggi. Nei brani, oltre a una naturale propensione alla melodia, l’artista palermitano dimostra di avere un’inclinazione a scrivere testi introspettivi in cui, grazie a una grande forza espressiva e a una scrittura in cui emerge a più riprese il background rap / trap, riesce a trasmettere una buona dose di romanticismo, nonostante spesso comunichi rabbia, frustrazioni e ansie e parli di errori e problemi in cui l’ascoltatore può identificarsi e che fanno parte di una sua personale rincorsa della felicità.
“Questo EP – racconta l’artista – rappresenta un po’ un viaggio confusionario all’interno della mia testa nella quale nemmeno io so dove mi sto dirigendo. Semplicemente mi lascio trasportare dalle emozioni e dagli istinti che vivo quotidianamente cercando di analizzare e capire cosa succede intorno a me. Per me è difficile esprimermi con chi mi sta accanto e sfogare i pensieri più nascosti. Ho quindi cercato, tramite la mia scrittura e le produzioni musicali, di trasferire nel disco le ribellioni e l’energia di alcune notti, non rimanendo isolato nell’insicurezza e nella malinconia di tutti i giorni”.
Dirt O’Malley ha un immaginario musicale sfaccettato, frutto di una consapevolezza non comune per la sua generazione che si riflette anche nei testi, e con questo EP, il primo lavoro per Sony Music, si presenta a un pubblico ancora più ampio di quello che lo ha sostenuto negli ultimi tre anni. Le produzioni musicali sono dello stesso Dirt O’Malley e c’è un contributo importante da parte di Sine che dal 2020 segue direttamente questo progetto artistico e ha partecipare alla realizzazione di due strumentali tra cui la title-track. Gli altri producer coinvolti sono Phatpro, Segi e Stoner.
DIRT O’MALLEY, nome d’arte di Samuele Roberti, è un rapper e producer palermitano classe 1996. Nelle sue canzoni introspettive e dai testi ricercati convivono il background rap / trap e una propensione alla melodia. Da quando, nel 2018, inizia a pubblicare i primi brani si fa subito notare con “Tropico” che, da uscita indipendente, riscuote un ottimo successo. Singolo dopo singolo, Dirt O’Malley, grazie a un’attitudine che lo porta continuamente a evolversi e sperimentare musicalmente, alla volontà di approfondire le tematiche intimiste e a una serie di videoclip originali ambientati in Sicilia e realizzati da Fele La Franca, attira sempre più attenzioni. Così, nel 2020, entra nella neonata etichetta Parla Chiaro di Sine – producer di fiducia di artisti come Noyz Narcos, Coez e Gemitaiz – con cui pubblica l’EP “Fuori Da Tutto”. Nel 2021 firma con Epic, etichetta di Sony Music Italy, e sempre affiancato da Fele La Franca e Sine, pubblica i singoli “Parla con Me”, brano dalle sonorità estive, e il più malinconico “Madama”, che aprono la strada al nuovo EP, “Profondo”.
