Nonostante la gioia per aver vinto contro una formazione così prestigiosa la Sidigas Avellino non può festeggiare appieno il risultato raggiunto per la grave perdita di una persona molto cara a tutta la società, Luca. Il coach irpino ci tiene sentitamente a dedicargli questa splendida vittoria: “Per noi, per la società e per tutti i tifosi avellinesi oggi è un giorno molto triste.
Purtroppo ci ha lasciati Luca, un nostro grande tifoso, ma soprattutto una splendida persona. Ci ha seguito in ogni partita e spesso veniva al PalaDelMauro per assistere gli allenamenti della squadra. Ci teniamo particolarmente a dedicargli questa vittoria. La vita è fatta anche di questi tristi avvenimenti, nonostante bisogna guardare avanti, sono dolori che ci portiamo dentro e che fanno male. Sarà dura non averlo più tra noi.”
Per quanto riguarda la gara di questa sera il coach biancoverde commenta così la prestazione dei suoi: “Per quanto riguarda la partita c’è stata una grande differenza tra il primo e il secondo tempo. Nel primo non siamo stati aggressivi in difesa, specialmente sul pick and roll e Tenerife è riuscita a segnare dei canestri facili.
Nel secondo tempo, quando abbiamo iniziato a difendere con più aggressività e a mettere più pressione sulla palla, siamo riusciti a rientrare in gara e a segnare dei canestri ben costruiti. Sono molto felice per la vittoria.”
