Tra I più grandi cantautori canadesi Ron Sexsmith è pronto per il suo ritorno sulle scene musicali. “You Don’t Wanna Hear It” è iI singolo che anticipa il nuovo album “HERMITAGE”, il primo da quando ha cambiato vita è ha lasciato la sua casa a Toronto, per intraprendere uno stile di vita bucolico a Stratford, in Ontario. Per arrivare alla creazione di “HERMITAGE”, Ron ha collaborato con il produttore Don Kerr, e insieme i due hanno costruito uno studio di registrazione nel soggiorno di Ron, con il cantautore che ha suonato e registrato tutti gli strumenti presenti nell’album, fatta eccezione per la batteria. Questo album segna il 25esimo anniversario della carriera dell’artista canadese.
Parlando del primo singolo “You Don’t Wanna Hear It”, Ron dice, “It’s a song about someone who has their nose all out of joint about something and are not in the mood to hear the truth.”
Da maggio 2020, in supporto al nuovo disco, Ron parità per un tour di 7 concerti nello stato del Canada che lo porterà da Victoria a Ottawa, passando per Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg e Toronto.
Ron Sexsmith è uno dei più grandi artisti canadesi. Ha collaborato con artisti del calibro di Daniel Lanois, Mitchell Froom, Ane Brun, Tchad Blake, e Bob Rock. Le sue grandi doti da cantautore lo hanno portato a scrivere per artisti come Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé, k.d. lang, Emmylou Harris e Feist.
È stato nominato per ben 15 volte ai Juno Awards, di cui 8 volte nella categoria “Songwriter of the Year”, e per 3 volte ha vinto questo prestigioso premio.
